Joachim von Ribbentrop
A German politician, diplomat, and businessman. He served as Foreign Minister of Nazi Germany from 1938 to 1945, strongly supporting Adolf Hitler's foreign policy. He was involved in negotiating key pre-war diplomatic agreements, including the Anglo-German Naval Agreement of 1935, the Anti-Comintern Pact of 1936, the Pact of Steel with Italy in 1939, and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact with the Soviet Union. He also diplomatically facilitated Germany's territorial expansion, including the Anschluss of Austria, the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia, and the invasion of Poland. During World War II, he promoted closer ties among the Axis powers and the declaration of war against the United States, while also involving the Foreign Office in the deportation of Jews from occupied territories. After the war, he was convicted of planning aggressive war, war crimes, and crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal, and was executed in 1946.
