Anton Webern in WWII
Anton Webern
An Austrian composer, conductor, and musicologist. Known alongside Arnold Schoenberg and Alban Berg as a central pillar of the "Second Viennese School". He developed atonality and the twelve-tone technique into extremely condensed forms, establishing a distinctive compositional style that emphasized brief motives, precise timbre distribution, and contrapuntal structures. Following World War II, his works exerted a massive influence on post-war avant-garde composers such as Pierre Boulez, playing a vital role in the development of modern music and serialism.
