Christoph Probst: Courageous White Rose Activist
Christoph Probst
A German medical student and anti-Nazi resistance activist. As one of the core collaborators of the "White Rose," he participated in non-violent resistance activities against the Nazi regime. Close with Alexander Schmorell since student days, he also deepened his relationship with Hans Scholl and others. During World War II, he served in an Air Force student company as a medic, and his criticism of the Nazi regime intensified through experiences such as his service on the Eastern Front. He became involved in the White Rose's activities from 1942, and in 1943, he drafted an anti-Nazi document intended to be the 7th leaflet. This draft was discovered upon Hans Scholl's arrest, leading to Probst's arrest; he was sentenced to death by the People's Court and executed on the same day at Munich Stadelheim Prison.
