Hans Scholl: Student Leader of Resistance
Hans Scholl
A German medical student, medic, and anti-Nazi resistance activist. Along with his younger sister Sophie Scholl, Alexander Schmorell, and others, he became a central figure in the "White Rose," a student group that resisted the Nazi regime. During World War II, he served as a medic on the French and Eastern fronts, strengthening his anti-Nazi stance after witnessing war crimes and the persecution of Jews and Poles in occupied territories. From 1942, he created and distributed anti-Nazi leaflets, and in February 1943, he was arrested along with his sister Sophie and others. Sentenced to death for treason by the People's Court, he was executed by guillotine on the same day at Munich Stadelheim Prison.
