Braxton Bragg

Braxton Bragg

Braxton Bragg

Braxton Bragg was a general who served as commander of the Confederate Mississippi Army (later the Army of Tennessee) in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. Known as a hero of the Mexican-American War, he achieved historic major victories such as the Battle of Chickamauga. On the other hand, due to his overly strict personality and incessant internal conflicts with subordinates, he frequently missed critical windows of opportunity. Following his relief from command, he assumed the role of military advisor to President Davis. Post-war, he dedicated himself to reconstruction as an infrastructure developer and railway engineer, supporting industrialization as a civil engineer.
