Joseph Patrick Kennedy Sr.

American businessman, diplomat, and politician. Known as the patriarch of the Kennedy family, he amassed a massive fortune through securities, the film industry, and real estate investments. Under the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration, he served as the first Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and as U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. He was the father of prominent political brothers John F., Robert F., and Ted Kennedy, laying the foundation for 20th-century America's most famous political dynasty.
